Last week, there was no TV Week in Review due to my traveling out of the country for the first time, for my sister’s wedding. Congrats, Kira!
This week and moving forward for the time being, there will be no TV Week in Review due to the fact that I have not watched a single show on the DVR as of yet and plan on taking as much time as I need to catch up. TV Week in Review will be back eventually, it always comes back when I take a hiatus. Right now though, it feels too weird to spend my time on this. Because for me, at this time, I need to create instead of watching what other people have created.
Before the election, I was working on a nonfiction project, rather nonchalantly. Now. I know it’s time to sit down and get this project done and out there. So that’s what I’m zoning in on.
Also, I’ve decided that starting January 1, 2017, I will only be reviewing diverse reads on the blog. I’m thinking I will do mini book roundups to feature other books that I’ve read and enjoyed and in those roundups, I will direct you to my full reviews of those books on Goodreads. But the only full reviews that you’ll see on the blog will be of diverse reads.
When I say “diverse reads” I mean diverse books and/or books written by diverse authors. And when I say “diverse” I mean people of color (POC), indigenous people, LGBTQIA, gender identity, religious minorities, religious movements, people with disabilities and diseases (seen and unseen) and mental diseases and disorders. If there’s something I’m missing here, please let me know.
If you’re not on Goodreads, I will get better at keeping up with posting reviews on Amazon as well. So yeah, the Summer Reading Diversity Spotlight is basically year round come 2017. And if you’re looking for diverse books to read, there are plenty.
So that’s that! Hollywood the Write Way will be light this month and next but stay tuned for what’s coming up, especially as Hollywood the Write Way transitions into the next chapter of the blog. The book coverage change is just the beginning.
Yay!!!! Thank you!
I just discovered you blog, and I look forward to following you! Also, congrats to your sister! <3 – http://domesticgeekgirl.com
