It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Ten Popular Authors I’ve Never Read. Thankfully, with my book challenge this year, I’m planning on reading many titles from these authors this year! But for now, I am still embarrassingly in the dark about…
1. Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss, Lola and the Boy Next Door)
2. Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Beauty Queens, The Diviners)
3. Kristin Cashore (Graceling Realm Trilogy)
4. Toni Morrison (Beloved, The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon)
5. Ally Carter (Heist Society Series, Gallagher Girls Series)
6. Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid’s Tale, The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace)
7. Patrick Ness (Chaos Walking Trilogy, A Monster Calls, More Than This)
8. James Patterson (Alex Cross Series, Maximum Ride Series)
9. Rick Riordan (The Heroes of Olympus Series, Kane Chronicles Trilogy)
10. David Levithan (Every Day, Love Is the Higher Law)
The Diviners by Libba Bray is intimidating because of its size, I’m not going to lie. But I AM going to read this book this year if it’s the only reading goal I accomplish! Sooner though, I plan to read the recently purchased ebook, The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. Soon as in I have it on my mind to read this month! So that’s exciting!
I really have no excuse for letting all of this time pass before reading these authors. What’s funny about this list is that I have made steps to read some titles above before. I remember taking Anna and the French Kiss out at the library only time passed, renewal time expired, and I still hadn’t opened to the first page. Next time will be different!
Now if there are any books from the authors above that I can start reading right away, it’s The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan and The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan which are sitting in my bookcase right now. If I look up, I can see them right in front of me. So. Game on.
Good list, I love Ally Carter and Rick Riordan books and I think that they are all worth reading.
Can't wait to get to them! 🙂
What a terrific list! This week's Ten makes me feel better about all of the authors I haven't gotten a chance to read yet.
Right!! Hahaha. It's so comforting to know we're not alone here! 🙂
