Not a ton that intrigues me is premiering this month on television…it’s a really quiet year overall for summer TV so eh.. But I am excited for HBO’s content including the Gillian Flynn adaptation of Sharp Objects and the highly anticipated documentary, Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind. If there’s any time to get that HBO Now, it’s July 16th when this doc premieres.
As for movies and docs, I am super pumped for The First Purge, Whitney, Skyscraper, and McQueen. I’m not a horror person but the Purge franchise I can get behind for some reason. The Whitney documentary is going to break my heart, I am not ready. Skyscraper is your average The Rock movie and I am HERE FOR IT and always will be. McQueen explores the extraordinary life of Alexander McQueen which is long overdue so I am so excited for this.
When it comes to books, I’m most excited for Bright We Burn by Kiersten White, Contagion by Erin Bowman, The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken, as well as new Ann Aguirre and Megan Abbott. Speaking of The Darkest Legacy, if you haven’t begun The Darkest Minds series, now’s the time to do it before The Darkest Minds movie releases on August 3rd!!!
