My Summer ’18 TV Watch List

While we wait for all of our favorite TV shows to return and new shows to premiere this fall, we must not forget that Summer TV is here! My summer TV lineup is quite light this year but that’s good since I’ve got a lot of TV to catch up before the fall. Aside from playing catch up, here’s what I’ll be watching this summer and definitely tell me what you’re watching in the comments!

I just realized that my top three shows this summer I haven’t even begun yet! Gah! I need a full weekend off to relax and catch up. Retail life is killer booo. I just want to sit back and really enjoy them, not rush to watch stuff before work or before I fall asleep from exhaustion. Grrr. I will get to you, my babies! The shows are Colony, Queen Sugar, and Humans.

Face Off is ending and it breaks my heart but I am so, so, so happy that this show has lasted as long as it has. I always wondered how long this show was going to go and 13 seasons is absolutely AMAZING. Everyone involved from every season should be super proud of their work. Okay, I’m going to save the sappy stuff for when the show actually ends but the final season has only just begun so let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

Love Is (OWN) Stars Michele Weaver and Will Catlett

Returning Dramas

Marvel’s Luke Cage (Netflix, Premieres Friday, June 22)
Orange Is the New Black (Netflix, Premieres Friday, July 27)
12 Monkeys: The Final Season (Syfy, Premieres Friday, June 15 at 8/7c)
Wynonna Earp (Syfy, Premieres Friday, July 20 at 9/8c)

Is it just me or do you watch like half of OITNB and then forget about it until a new season nears so then you remember you have to finish the season? It’s happened the last 2, now 3 seasons. Hmm. I’m still enjoying it, it’s just not as urgent anymore and I wonder what that’s about. Anyway, I am probably going to cry when 12 Monkeys ends. I don’t cry often at all in everyday life and I can count on one hand the number of TV shows I’ve cried over when they’ve ended so this a pretty big deal. Oh man, I’m going to miss this show. Oh man, let me stop talking about this show right now because I’m about to cry and give myself a migraine.

New Miniseries
SHARP OBJECTS (HBO, Premieres Sunday, July 8 at 9/8c)

Read the book by Gillian Flynn before you watch the adaptation, please and thank you. This is a reminder to myself as it’s the only Gillian Flynn book that I haven’t read ha ha. Wow. Melody, get your life together.

I knew that I’d love this show even before in premiered but wow, my love for this show is so deep! Definitely check this show out if you haven’t yet. Talk about pure joy. And for a good laugh, be sure to check out Nailed It. I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would!

The one TV doc that it is on my mind is Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind on HBO and the one TV movie I can say that I’m anticipating is the upcoming Hallmark movie that Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega star in!
