Wow, have I been gone for awhile! Work has kept me busy and mega exhausted but I recently transferred and my schedule is not as wild so that means more blogging! Yay! Finally! I completely missed the April On My Radar & Wrap Up so I’m combining them in this one post here! So let’s backtrack to April…
TV
A lot of great TV came on the air in April. The Crossing came to ABC (though it’s already been cancelled, womp womp. ABC never really gives their sci-fi shows a chance so this is unsurprising). Killing Eve made its debut on BBC America. It’s on my never ending list of shows to start but it’s near the top! Lost in Space debuted on Netflix and it was so lovely oh my goodness, I binged that so fast! It’s a family sci-fi drama and I am itching for season two! Highly recommend! It was such a joy to watch, so, so entertaining! As for returning shows, the only one worth mentioning at this point is New Girl as it returned for its final season (which has since wrapped). Ah, New Girl. What a great show. I am definitely going to miss this show but all good things must come to an end… Onward!
Movies
Of the April movie releases, I absolutely loved A Quiet Place. It’s not in my nature to see scary movies, let alone see them by myself but I go to the movies all of the time by myself so if I wanted to be brave and see a scary movie, well, I had to bring myself to the theater. And I’m so glad that I did because what an amazing movie! And it wasn’t scary! So double win for me! And of course, Avengers: Infinity War was absolutely phenomenal. Though I saw that the week after its release in May. Anyway, it’s my second favorite Marvel film ever. First goes to Black Panther.
Books
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody released in April and it’s great! Definitely pick up a copy if you haven’t yet! I still need to pick up a copy of Paper Girls, Vol. 4 by Brian K. Vaughan! I didn’t get a ton of reading done but I did run into Children of Blood and Bone author, Tomi Adeyemi in LA literally as I was listening to her audiobook! Wild!
I also attended the LA Festival of Books! I found myself at most of the YA panels including “Young Adult Fiction: Rebels, Romantics and Everything in Between” with Maurene Goo, Sandhya Menon, Amy Spalding, and Margaret Stohl, moderated by Aminah Mae Safi, “Young Adult Thrillers: Buried Secrets” with Maureen Johnson, Caleb Roehrig, Shea Ernshaw, moderated by Gretchen McNeil, “Eat. Read. Sleep: Fantastical Young Adult Fiction” with Marie Lu, Dhonielle Clayton, Sabaa Tahir, and Tochi Onyebuchi, moderated by Sarah Enni, “Young Adult Fiction: Secrets & Self Discovery” with Brandy Colbert, Robin Benway, Renee Watson, and Abdi Nazemian, and the “Getting Real: Young Adult Fiction and Social Justice” panel with Nic Stone, John Jennings, and Randy Ribay, moderated by Brandy Colbert. Outside of the YA scene, I also met John August, was star struck as Laila Ali walked past me only moments before Vivica A. Fox did as well!
The Arts
Finally, I attended Kitty Bungalow’s CATSravaganza (which involves me meeting One Tree Hill‘s Tyler Hilton) and wrote all about it here! That’s an experience I’ll never forget! Alright, now onto the quickest wrap up ever ha ha. As you can see, along with having zero energy to blog, I had very little time to read or watch much anything in April. The only thing I was craving this month was an Icy Hot. Anyway…
