Okay, so May is practically over but that won’t stop me from keeping a record of what’s on my radar this month!
There’s not a whole lot on TV right now due to the official TV season ending this month and the summer shows taking a minute to really kick in but I am SO excited for the return of Queen Sugar! The first two seasons are on Hulu so get to watching before the show returns on the 29th for its two night premiere! In the meantime, I did binge the new series on Netflix, The Rain. The premise is great, the characters on the show make really dumb decisions, but if you can get past that or tolerate that enough to stick around to see the story unfold, I’d suggest checking it out.
As for movies, I saw Tully this month and it was absolutely fantastic. I also saw a few other movies, including Deadpool 2 even though I have zero interest in Deadpool because I figured it wasn’t my kind of thing (and I was right). While it was funny at times, it was only mildly entertaining for me and that’s completely okay. It’s not my thing but it was good to finally understand what all the talk was about. For clarity, no, I don’t really have an interest in seeing the first Deadpool now. I only went to Deadpool 2 because I had time to make use of my Movie Pass.
Finally, books! Lots of great releases this month! The ones I can’t wait to get to the most include Tiffany Sly Lives Here Now by Dana L. Davis, Ship It by Britta Lundin, The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo, My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma, Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson, From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon, and 84K by Claire North. Woo! So much goodness!!!
