As the second thrilling season of “Witches of East End” returns, Joanna (Julia Ormond) clings to life after being poisoned by Penelope. Meanwhile, the Beauchamps must find and destroy the mysterious evil presence that crossed into this world through the open portal. King Nikolaus’ arrival puts the witches in their greatest danger yet, and Frederick’s return spells uncertainty – will he help his family or seal their deadly fate? While Dash plots revenge on his blackmailer, Freya strives to reunite with Killian. The excitement builds from the first chilling episode to the shocking season finale in this mesmerizingly sexy, suspenseful series also starring Mädchen Amick, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Rachel Boston.

The second and final season of Witches of East End aired last year and if you were following my recaps on OMFGTV, you know how much I enjoyed the season and was looking forward to a season three renewal. Season two was great. Just as great as season one. Actually, there was plenty of action and romance and high stakes and this season was even darker and much steamier than season one, which I absolutely loved! Season two was as shocking as ever as secrets brought trouble and trouble brought traps and damage control and more traps! Season two was intense! From the very beginning. What a ride!

Wendy remained my favorite character of the show this season. She’s funny, fearless, and smart and will stop at nothing to protect her loved ones while also showing them when they are wrong, with love. It never feels like a lecture or judgement from her. And while she is the most fun of the bunch, she’s a great guardian for them all and there’s a reason she’s the one with the nine lives. Joanna was exciting to watch this season as well as she did nothing but fight for her girls.

Speaking of the girls, what a stressful storyline that was watching Ingrid being under psychosis by a magical creature, the Mandragora. As was the star crossed lover storyline between Freya and Killian with evil Eva thrown in the mix there. Glad that Eva didn’t last too long. Got me singing, “I knew you were trouble when you walked in…trouble. Trouble. Trouble.” It was so much fun watching Freya relive past lives with Killian, the 70s in particular. What a way to lighten the tone. We finally got to see Jenna Dewan-Tatum dance on the show! What a treat that was!

“I am a smart stalker lady and a bad ass bitch!” – Freya

Along with the gals, the guys were full of interesting story. Dash was haunted by his hallucination of Killian and boy, there really was quite an interesting dynamic between the brothers in both seasons. They have such distinct desires and the will to get what they want which is often a dangerous thing for each of them so watching how they went about achieving and seeing how they either suppressed or let loose their motives for all to see or not see was so fun.

Then there’s the unfortunate state of Victor the mystery of Frederick, and finally getting tons of interaction with the King of Asgard. Long story short, the Beauchamps dealt with a lot this season. The drama never let up and that’s just the way I like it. Deceit and death followed them plenty. The threat of their magic being exposed appeared and was fought in new ways. Weaknesses were played on and brought upon very terrifying circumstances. Flashbacks and time traveling back to Baltimore 1848 really kept us on our toes and kept the fun alive. The two hour series finale was bananas as plans unraveled right before everyone’s eyes. What a way to leave us hanging!

I’ve made peace with the ending now given we were all hopeful for a season three but whoa. What incredible doors that were opened for a possible third season. Just swing those doors wide open won’t you. That said, if you haven’t seen the show and are worried about cliffhangers, I’ll just say that season two ends with enough tied bows but hands us new ones that have yet to be tied so if you can handle that, watch the first two seasons of the show because it is so worth it. This series stands just fine with its first and only two seasons so get ready to binge through this show when you have it in your possession because it is certainly binge worthy material.

Season two brought some amazing guest stars including but not limited to Michelle Hurd (90210, The Glades), Rachel Nichols (Continuum, Alias), James Marsters (Caprica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Sarah Lancaster (Chuck) who I loved on their past shows and really enjoyed seeing here so the goodness from this show is simply never ending. Everywhere you look, there’s a reason to love this show even more. So if you’re ready for an equally steamy and smart witch show, you’ve found it here.
