Once Upon A Time (ABC) – Episode 4.19 “Sympathy for the De Vil”
Cruella backstory! Yes!!! I love that Cruella took what was meant for her to fear, for her to fall and used it to help her rise. The dalmatians are like a link to, a symbol of all of that and that is just so incredible. Even moreso, the fact that they have spots and so does she and while theirs are permanent, can Cruella ever wipe away hers? Because she’s used what she’s gained for evil to attain her good and ughh it’s all so spotty here being the villain. Long story short, I loved this backstory as I do all of the backstory on this show because it’s so well thought out and has such life. Love it! Great episode just for this alone!

The Last Man On Earth (FOX) – Episode 1.11 “Moved To Tampa”
Phil and Carol have decided to get a divorce. Yes. Finally! Carol tried. She really did. But a marriage can’t be successful when only one person is genuinely trying. So.
As for the rest of the episode, I’m not surprised that Phil moved on so quickly. Or at least attempted to move on. I loved how sassy Carol was after the divorce. Ha! And that she is not holding back in moving on herself either, slowly and more gracefully than Phil. Props Carol for respecting yourself.
I’m not surprised Phil got himself in quite a predicament again and ended up meeting another living being on earth played by Boris Kodjoe. What was surprising and awfully entertaining was that the new guy was also named Phil Miller which brought upon quite a conflict of what to call each of them without greetings being so confusing all of the time. Ha! Are we really calling Phil, “Tandy” now? Because he’s totally still Phil in my mind right now.
Then there’s Melissa and Todd. I absolutely loved that we got to follow their POVs and see what’s going on behind closed doors here. Oh, the inevitable “I love you” conflict. Which brings me to a full circle moment, Phil realizing that he had a good thing and let it go willingly. Carol. Will he try to get her back? Will he work on himself before doing so or looking to someone else for a relationship? Ahhh, there are so many questions. This episode may not seem like much on the surface but there’s so much to unpack here and I really loved it. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Gotham (FOX) – Episode 1.20 “Under the Knife”
Okay, so, I did go get a snack halfway through the episode and missed some of it but from all that I did see, I can say that I loved seeing Selina all dressed up and ready for her and Bruce’s covert mission with the help of Barbara. I also found Milo Ventimiglia’s continuing guest arc to be awesome! Though this doesn’t bode well for Barbara! Guess boring Babs is going to bite the dust next week? At least I hope so? She doesn’t add much to show, so, I can’t say I’d miss her. What do you think?
Scorpion (CBS) – Episode 1.22 “Postcards From the Edge” (Season Finale)
This was quite a stressful episode, watching Walter stuck on the edge of a cliff, alone, with his team nearby but still, he was physically alone and needed their help to get out of this predicament alive. Since we know Walter will be fine in that he won’t die, I wasn’t as moved by this conflict but it was a good one for a season finale. It would have been more moving maybe in a season two or three but still, solid episode!
Castle (ABC) – Episode 7.20 “Sleeper”
I was hoping this episode would be the opposite of its title… unfortunately, it was a bit of a sleeper. Why? Well. I’m pretty much over whatever happened to Castle when he went missing. That and the fact that the overarching plot here pretty much introduces itself in the first few episodes of the season, completely disappears, and then reappears in the final episodes of the season and I just wish it were slightly more present throughout the entire season. Slightly. Because otherwise it wouldn’t be the case of the week show that we love but something needs to change here for it to not become a boring routine every season of the same old, same old. So, all of this aside, this was a solid episode. But taking it all into consideration, a sleeper for sure.

Arrow (The CW) – Episode 3.20 “The Fallen”
We started off this week right where last week left off, with Thea fighting for her life. Oliver believes that the only way to save her is to accept Ra’s offer. Well, the way that Ra’s saves Thea may have saved her life but she’s different now and I don’t know how I feel about her soul being slightly off kilter now. Who knows what this means for the future but something tells me nothing good. I will say that I’m SO glad her memory loss when she was awoken was temporary because if it lasted, I may have jumped ship. That would have angered me too much. So good job writers on making that temporary because that would have killed her storyline otherwise.
Then there’s Oliver and Felicity! I love how hard Felicity fought for Oliver in this episode. It was also exciting seeing that these two finally got together! OooooOooooo! With the team back in Stalring City and Oliver transitioning from the Arrow to God knows what, it makes me wonder what we’ve got in store for the final episodes of the season which are basically here. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out! I’m very anxious!
The Middle (ABC) – Episode 6.21 “Two of a Kind”
While I was initially confused as to why Dick Van Dyke made a guest appearance on the show (it isn’t confusing anymore after you remember Jerry Van Dyke’s recurring role on the show), I’ll never turn down watching a little song and dance from him so that was nice. Aside from that, this episode was yawn worthy and not all that memorable aside from Dick Van Dyke.
Blackish (ABC) – Episode 1.21 “Switch Hitting”
The cold open for this week’s Blackish is easily one of my top fives. Actually, this entire episode is in the top five favorite episodes of the season. Everything about this episode was so good. My face hurt from laughing so much, that’s how good this was. I know the feeling of having people who aren’t black “acting black” and questioning my “blackness” so this episode really struck a chord and was very entertaining since I can laugh about situations like this after the fact. Great episode!!! Season one is coming to a close just as sharp as it began.
Modern Family (ABC) – Episode 6.20 “Knock ‘Em Down”
Modern Family is back with a knockout episode. Jay agrees to sub on Cam’s bowling team, completely unaware until he’s already out with Cam that the game is with a gay bowling league. He handles himself well! I loved how it played out.
Meanwhile, Phil and Claire get stuck going out to dinner with their neighbors. At which point they find out their trashy neighbors have a son going to Juilliard (glad Alex didn’t come to the dinner!). Not to mention, their neighbors are kind of rich. Phil and Claire buddying up with the neighbors and then getting into shenanigans…I can’t wait to see how the dynamic changes and grows in the future.
Finally, there’s Gloria and Mitchell who go out with Haley and quickly realize beforehand that they’re gonna have to level up if they want to hang. That was hilarious! Probably my favorite storyline of the night? Great episode all around!

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) – Episode 11.21 “How to Save a Life”
Wow. At first, I was super excited to see Savannah Paige Rae (Parenthood) and Allie Grant (Suburgatory, Weeds) in this episode but then right after Derek saved their characters in a brutal car car, he himself is run over by a truck and killed. Killed. Derek Shepard is gone. Just like that. Wow. And he could have lived had the hospital he had gone to been more experience and been on one accord. Oh man, next week is going to be tough. A two hour episode. It’s going to gut me. I was teary eyed and forced myself not to cry this week but there’s no controlling what tears flow next week. When it hits the hospital. I don’t even want to talk about it anymore, I am just so sad. Next season is going to be the last please?! I can’t take too many more main cast deaths.
The Vampire Diaries (The CW) – Episode 6.19 “Because”
Damon wants to be human with Elena if it’s the only or best way to be with her?! Wow! Talk about selfless. His character growth season to season never ceases to amaze me. Meanwhile, the fight to turn Caroline’s humanity back on was fierce. Though with the recent news of Nina Dobrev leaving the show, suddenly Caroline’s storyline seems less interesting and I’m way more interested in seeing how Elena’s storyline is wrapped up. So..that’s where we’re at right now.
Scandal (ABC) – Episode 4.20 “First Lady Sings the Blues”
So…Jake is alive! Woo! And Olivia’s dad is fierce! He really will do anything when Olivia is against him. Wow! Throughout the episode, I, like many, were waiting for Olivia to figure out the mole right under her nose so it was rewarding for it to “finally” happen at the end. But now we have this foxtail storyline and I’m kind of rolling my eyes because the promos are pushing that really hard and I’m over here like, “Quit trying to make foxtail happen.” So…hopefully foxtail lives up to the hype because the season finale nears and I’d rather this not be the driving story next season simply because foxtail sounds stupid. It just doesn’t flow well off the tongue to me. What do you think?
