I love so much about this episode. I love that we started right where we left off. A few moments before actually, from Liv’s point of view and Jake’s point of view. I love that Jake ran after Liv once he realized she went missing. I love how high the stakes were. This week was tense. So tense! My heart was racing as Olivia fought to survive and plan a means of escape from her kidnappers.

I loved the Inception vibe. The dream sequences, every single bit of it I loved. The botched escape. Jake helping her escape. Liv making jam and Fitz being the mayor, the two living happily ever after in Vermont. Abby visiting Liv in Vermont and telling her that she is the only one who can rescue herself.

Liv waking up.

Liv saving herself. I loved the kill shot. I loved that she ran. She ran for her life. I loved, loved, loved that this episode is called, “Run.” I love that this is just the beginning of the run, of the fight.

I love that it’s not Olivia’s reputation at stake but her life. I love how poetic the writing is. The directing was. The storytelling was. I loved that Kerry Washington led this episode in a way she never has before. This was so terrifying, so heart pounding, and so intimate because it was so solitary and I loved every single moment. Every single one. This is easily my favorite episode of the season so far and I don’t have a clue as to what’s coming next but I’m pretty sure this is the episode of the season for me. This was absolutely phenomenal. Love.

Scandal is absolutely remarkable. And if that wasn’t an Emmy winning performance, I don’t know what is. Every episode of Scandal grabs you in the very first moment and doesn’t let go until the very end but the weight of this episode will stay with you for a long, long time. West Coast, get ready because tonight’s Scandal is bananas. And this is just the beginning. Now it’s time for Operation Save Olivia. Are you ready?

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.
