In today’s edition of The Vine, a spin off of the Sunday Branch feature, my notes refer to John 10 (Amplified Version).

Jesus is telling the disciples that He is the door and anyone who enters through Him will be saved.

The shepherd who lead the flock are ministers, elders, etc… and the sheep (us) know God’s voice.

Verse 5 Notes:
People are being easily deceived. As the sheep, you know God’s voice. Consume yourself with his voice. Don’t be swayed by other voices.

All this time, Jesus has talked about the Jewish people. Coming for them, saving them first. In verse 16, He’s talking about us. We (“Gentiles”) were always in the plan.

Verse 18 Notes:
He’s prophesying his death and resurrection.

Verse 24 Notes:
They wanted to get Jesus to say that He was Christ so that they could stone him right then and there. But as we know (since Jesus has said it many times before), it wasn’t His time then. Soon. Not yet.

Tomorrow…John 11.
