In today’s edition of The Vine, a spin off of the Sunday Branch feature, my notes refer to John 6 (Amplified Version).

Verse 1-2 Notes:
Jesus went to the other side of Galilee and a crowd followed because they had seen the miracle. People will follow you when they see the signs and miracles of Jesus manifesting in your life.
Verse 7 Notes:
Philip thought that whatever they had would only give them a little. But God is greater.
Verse 10 Notes:
Green pastures. Think about the setting. Peaceful. Rest. a place of no worry. No fear. For miles. Speaking of fear, have you checked out my very first Sunday Branch feature yet?
Verse 11 Notes:
He gave to them as much as they wanted. Jesus gives in abundance. We are looking for God to give but we are not in a state of gratitude and rest.
Doesn’t what’s happening here remind you of Psalm 23?
1 The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack.
2 He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
3 He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him—not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.
Verse 12 Notes:
What are you doing with your excess?
Verse 15 Notes:
Even if you know you’re capable, are you focused on the work that God has for you at your appointed time?
Verse 17 Notes:
It may be dark and seem like Jesus isn’t coming to you but He’s on His way. He’s coming back.
Verse 19-20 Notes:
When Jesus manifests, we get scared.
Jesus is saying, “It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
Verse 21 Notes:
The disciples were willing to have Jesus on the boat. Are you willing? Immediately when they accepted him, the boat reached land. Jesus met them in the middle and they immediately came ashore. When you know it’s God, be willing to receive. He will meet you where you are.
Tomorrow…John 7.
