Before I start, I want to thank Fox for blurbing me during a promo for tonight’s November 4th episode of New Girl. It means so much! Thank you, Fox!

So, in “Background Check,” Winston asks the guys for help with his training and they all agree that it would be more fun to go outlet shopping with Coach instead. Smoothies and all. In the midst of this, Schmidt breaks down at the very thought of CeCe dating, which Jess, without hesitation, fills him in on. Until Winston breaks it down and tells the loft that they have no choice to help as a home inspection is happening and the Sgt. is on her way. As if this opening weren’t funny enough, Jess, unnaturally nervous about an LAPD visit, announces that she has a little something special in her closet. Jess! Ha! Nobody saw that coming! Nice twist there.

I don’t know what was funnier, the opening or the crew (CeCe included) doing everything that they could to get rid of Jess’s problem with Winston completely out of the loop regarding the problem at hand. I laughed out loud dozens of times, the loudest being when Nick was left alone with the Sgt. in charge of inspecting the loft. Nick may have indeed stolen the show with this performance right here.

Let’s not forget that Coach is sent out alone to prove a lie that they all made up in front of the Sgt which was beyond hysterical! The one time Coach needs someone by his side and no one dares to get up to go with him. Ha! What a riot these guys are. Basically, tonight’s episode was superb. Absolutely laugh out loud funny and quite the return for the show’s brief hiatus. I love when shows come back with a bang and the writers delivered here, yes they did! So be sure to tune in tonight! New Girl is back and it’s great. You don’t want to miss it!
