Danny gets tired of Mindy’s tardiness and decides to take her CPT issues (It’s not what you think! Only it slightly is!) into his own hands. Danny’s plan backfires for quite some time. Ha ha! On top of that, Danny digs a deeper grave for himself with Dr. Fishman (guest star Niecy Nash) keeping a watchful eye on him after his mental breakdown which she doesn’t know was all a ruse.
Danny’s week basically gets worse and worse and it makes for a very memorable episode as far as his conflicts go. Seeing Danny in a pickle rather than Mindy was refreshing and even more hilarious as the episode went on. Mindy does eventually see Danny’s point of view, when she’s stuck babysitting helping out Danny’s mom with her errands. But really, this week was all about Danny and boy was that entertaining! God, I love this show. It never disappoints.
The b-story this week is Tamra hooking Peter up with her friend through a a blind date, with Morgan egging on the entire set up. I loved that the show tackled respecting women’s minds rather than lusting after their bodies in such a simple yet incredibly moving way. We have more to offer than just our bodies and sharing this message, especially through a writer made me so happy.
I love how this show takes women’s issues, cultural stereotypes, and more and turns them on their heads and/or says in the most satisfying of ways, “Here’s the problem and here’s what’s ridiculous about that problem.” The writers are always so playful with the content they deliver (and I think that’s why Glenn Howerton’s from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia guest arc worked so well as Howerton sleeps, eats, and breathes that fearless, unapologetic comedic style with a positive, thought provoking message that this show has). This show is delightful in every way in every scene and I’m so glad it’s back because there’s definitely a void when it’s not on. Make sure you watch tonight!
