February Notes
* I was inspired by YA author, Marie Lu (Champion) to write about the books that linger.
* I attempted my second read-a-thon and came to the conclusion that I don’t think I should commit to reading certain books ahead of time. So here’s looking forward to the next read-a-thon I attempt.

Well, I am still behind with this book challenge and I only read two more books than I did last month…really one more book since I put one down as a DNF (Did Not Finish). As mentioned above, I have found that planning out what books I will read for the month isn’t the best method. I also found that when I started reading one of the books above, I really struggled getting through it which is why I did not finish reading it. The pacing was not my cup of tea at all and that kind of killed my desire to read anything else. I was in a lull. I usually always finish reading books so starting DNF practices would not be something I could easily snap into doing but ain’t nobody got time for that! So. We’ll see how many DNFs I rack up at the end of the year. Hopefully the number will stay on one hand.
My favorite read of the month was… The Giver by Lois Lowry.

The Bourne Legacy
The Lion King 1 1/2
Kill Bill: Vol. 1
The Family (On Demand)
My favorite movie this month was Kill Bill: Vol 1 simply because after watching this movie so many times and falling asleep on the same two parts every single time, I finally managed to watch this movie in its entirety and never have to try to watch it again. It was well worth the effort.
I like the pacing of my movie viewing this year because it’s so different from usual. I could easily watch a movie everyday because that’s what I’ve done so many times before. That’s what I typically do in the summer when I’m waiting for my fall TV shows to return. But with the book challenge in effect, I am pacing myself here with the movies which is much less of a challenge. Though I will say I didn’t love any of the movies that I watched this month so hopefully a movie will really shine above the rest in March.
Until next month, happy reading and viewing!
