Occasionally, I’ll post news on here (I don’t do it regularly as news doesn’t ever really stop coming out and it would be impossible to stay on top of book, music, movie, and TV news on my own) but I have to mention this.
It was announced yesterday that Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff have sold a YA trilogy, Illuminae, set to release in the fall of 2015.
The story is told through a dossier of hacked documents – including emails, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, graphics, and more – for what’s billed as a found footage-style mashup of Battlestar Gallactica and Ten Things I Hate About You.
Brilliant. I don’t know about you but this sounds absolutely fantastic. Beyond phenomenal. This sounds like it will be my favorite read of 2015. I know I’m going to love it and I think this book is going to blow up. Why wouldn’t it after reading that description? As soon as this book is available for pre-order, I’ll be on that link so fast! Illuminae sounds like a golden ticket to YA if you ask me. What are you waiting for, add it to Goodreads and thank me later.
After reading These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner earlier this year (you can read my review here), it’s clear Amie is not only one of the most talented debut writers of 2013 but she has quite a remarkable knack for collaboration. I can’t even begin to efficiently tell you how excited I am for Illuminae. This is a must read, guys. Don’t worry, I’ll be here to remind you about this amazing book as the release gets closer. Until then, congratulations Amie and Jay!
