I’m one week away from the end of the 30 Day Netflix Challenge!

The goal was to cut my Netflix DVD queue in half by November 18th and there were 45 movies in my queue so this meant watching 23 movies in 30 days. I also have a goal to get my queue down to 0 by the end of November.

In case you’re wondering why my Netflix queue has such a low number of 45… there are 20 movies I have been indecisive about seeing over the years, so they aren’t in my DVD queue. There are 3 stand alone books and 2 book series that I want to read before watching their film adaptations, so those movies aren’t in my queue. There are 10 movie sequels that I have yet to watch but am not in a rush to see so those are also not in my queue. And finally, a sucker for made for TV movies, my queue would be endless if I sat down and made a list of all of those movies I want to watch. So, once I get my queue down at the end of the month, I will finally get to these 35 numbers! Plus the handful or so of movies that haven’t yet released but will this fall/winter. So, yes, technically, I won’t be cutting my DVD queue in half until the end of November when I’ve watched everything already in my queue.

Anyway, here’s the breakdown:

October 18 – October 25: Watched 7 films
October 26 – November 1: Watched 6 films
November 2 – November 8: Watched 6 films (2 of them I did not finish. Pain & Gain was horrendous. The Brother’s Grimm was too whimsical, even for me and just too ridiculous to bother finishing.)

19 movies watched! 4 more to watch before November 18th. I’ll be done with the challenge this week! At this pace, I could essentially get through what’s in my queue plus the 35 that aren’t yet in my queue before the year is up! I planned on downgrading my Netflix plan once the challenge was over but I may just keep the 3 DVDs out at a time plan for one more month. Then, definitely downgrading.

Now, since there are only four movies left to watch to finish the challenge, I won’t post a celebratory update immediately after. Instead, I will post an update at the end of the month to see how close I am to getting my queue down to zero. I’ll include screenshots of my queue so you’ll see what I’m watching and essentially when I’m watching them. Stay tuned!
