Each weekend, I recommend a movie, documentary, and TV series that I found through Netflix or started watching because it was conveniently on Netflix and I had been meaning to get to that movie/documentary/TV show for some time. If you have any recommendations, feel free to leave a comment!
Due to my Netflix 30 Day Challenge dedicated to my DVD queue, I will only be giving one recommendation as opposed to three (since my recs are typically streaming). This will be the routine until the challenge is complete!
Adam lives on a poverty-stricken world, while Eden is from its affluent twin planet, and their love sparks an interplanetary incident. Social stigma, family and government forces work to keep them apart, but they’ll stop at nothing to be together.
Aside from the ending, which is rather lackluster and disappointing (and probably not worth the two hours for some viewers), I really enjoyed this film. I absolutely loved the concept and execution (although, as I mentioned, more could have been done with the ending) but everything else was truly fascinating. I’m also biased when it comes to Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst. I’m a fan of their work in general, so…this film had everything going for it really. Just needed to raise the bar even more and this would have been phenomenal.
Since starting the 30 Day Netflix Challenge on October 18th, I have watched seven films from my DVD queue! Even though I took a Benadryl and missed the ending of Iron Man 3 four times before the Benadryl finally wore off the fifth time I rewound the DVD to catch the end, I’d have to say Iron Man 3 was my favorite of the seven films. I didn’t have a least favorite film, so far I’ve enjoyed them all. Something tells me next week’s results won’t be as pleasant but only time will tell!
