New Girl star, Lamorne Morris has joined The Thirst Project and is asking you to give up your favorite “treat” drink this month, donate the money that you would have spent on your “treat” drink to the Thirst Project for Clean Water, and tell your friends and family why you gave it up (as well as asking them to give it up too!)
More on what inspired the project below:
My sister just came back from a 10 month mission trip in Haiti (more on that here) and saw firsthand the lack of water in the community so this project is definitely something that hits home a lot more than it did before. I encourage you all to participate!
ABOUT THE THIRST PROJECT:
Almost 1 billion people on the planet do not have access to safe, clean water, and 4,400 kids under the age of five will die today from drinking dirty water. The Thirst Project is a movement of high school and college students that builds freshwater wells in developing nations and impoverished communities to provide people with safe, clean water. A nonprofit organization, The Thirst Project travels across the United States speaking at schools to educate students about the global water crisis and challenge them to fundraise to build wells. 100% of all public gifts go directly to funding freshwater wells on the ground. The Thirst Project has given more than 180,000 people in 11 countries safe, clean water.
