In celebration of Black History Month, and the one-year anniversary of DOC’s Black Documentary Cinema monthly series, every Tuesday night in February, Documentary Channel will be showcasing their best BDC films from the past year, culminating in the US TV premiere of “Infiltrating Hollywood” on 2/28.
But that’s not all! Every Saturday in March, Documentary Channel will celebrates the woman’s perspective in “Her Take” which will showcase documentaries by female filmmakers.
I am most anticipating the following:
Sunday March 4, 2012 8:00 PM
Carpet Racers – Radio controlled race car drivers- professional and competitive.
Saturday March 10, 2012 8:00 PM
The Price of Sex – Eastern European women forced into prostitution abroad.
Saturday March 17, 2012 8:00 PM
The Heretics – Inside the feminist art collective that produced “Heresies: A Feminist Publication on Art and Politics” (1977-92).
You do not want to miss these pieces! Documentary Channel is primarily available through satellite television services DISH Network (Channel 197) and DIRECTV (Channel 267). As a big fan of documentaries, I urge you to find a way to make sure you see these if you are unable to with your television service provider. Thank me later!
