Syfy Digital Press Tour 2011: The Fun!

Last week, I made my way to Orlando Florida for the 2011 Syfy Digital Press Tour. The 2 day event began with a Syfy Luau with Destination Truth‘s Josh Gates. Gates is such a down to earth guy, it’s no wonder Syfy asked him to host the night’s events!

Here I am with Being Human‘s Sammy Huntington! He gives Colin Ferguson (Eureka) a run for his money as the most down to earth guy at Syfy.

Syfy also sent us to experience Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights! I made it through three of the six haunted houses, holding onto Sammi T from TVGrapevine in the first, Charlie Rowe (Neverland) in the second and McKenzie Westmore (Face Off) in the third! We also rode on the big red roller coaster where you can choose music to listen to as you ride it! I have no idea what the name of the roller coaster is called but it is one of my favorite roller coasters ever. I would go to Orlando again just to ride that roller coaster.

That’s not all! A trip to Orlando would not be complete without a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! They closed the park just for us! I rode on every ride with Jaleel White whom you can see hosting the upcoming Syfy game show, Total Blackout. I also took personal photos which you can see below:

Here I am with Accidental Sexiness, Sammi T from TV Grapevine, and Cleve Hall from the upcoming Syfy docu-series, Monster Man.

And just how many people can say that they were at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter with a cast member of Harry Potter? Meeting Rhys Ifans was exciting enough, but being at the park with Ifans or Xenophilius Lovegood, Luna Lovegood’s father… surreal! You can catch Ifans in Syfy’s Neverland this December!

Also announced in Orlando, the highly-anticipated Steve Niles’ Remains, Chiller’s first original movie, will premiere Friday, December 16, 2011 at 10/9c!

Based on the IDW Publishing graphic novel written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and illustrated by Kieron Dwyer, Remains is set in a chilling post-apocalyptic Reno, Nevada, and follows the survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world’s population to zombies. The group takes refuge in a vacant casino and fights a losing battle against the undead, who grow steadily stronger, smarter and more aggressive by the minute. The movie stars Grant Bowler (True Blood, Ugly Betty), Lance Reddick (Fringe, Lost, The Wire), Miko Hughes (Pet Sematary) and Tawny Cypress (Rescue Me, Heroes). Remains is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O’Brien will serve as producers for Synthetic Cinema International.
