Food Review: Naked Juice Smoothies

Naked Juice Blends introduced three new smoothies over the summer and as part of the “To Be Healthy Is…” Campaign, I want to share with you these new additions to your healthy drink options!

Naked Juice has added one veggie and fruit smoothie as well as two new reduced calorie smoothies to their brand!

The Mango Veggie blend will make you want to try to heat it up and have it as soup. The chickpeas and other ingredients make it have a milky aftertaste and perhaps it is that thickness that makes the idea of a great soup so appealing. Then again, it is a smoothie filled with veggies… yellow carrots, sweet potato, sweet corn, and butternut squash to be exact. I’m thinking about buying enough to give to each family member as an appetizer on Thanksgiving Day. It’s got that kind of taste. The bottle contains two full servings of vegetables and one full serving of fruit and will help meet the daily requirements for more than 8 nutrients (vitamins A,C,E, B6, B12, niacin, pantothenic acid, etc…). Good stuff!

The Reduced Calorie smoothies came on the market last year and now there are two more additions on the market. The Reduced Calorie Citrus Lemongrass blend is light and tasty but has too much lemongrass for my taste. If you love lemongrass though, stock up on this flavor!

Saving the best for last, the Reduced Calorie Lychee is light, sweet goodness! It contains 1 lychee, 3/4 coconut water, 1/4 peach, 1/3 mango, 1/2 orange, and 1 1/4 apples. I tasted the peach and mango right away. Since mango is one of my favorite fruits, this touch made it easy to fall in love with this new blend. Plus, when I lived in LA, I got hooked on coconut water, so I was over the moon thrilled to find that this flavor along with the Lemongrass flavor have coconut water. The coconut water in these smoothies reduces calories by 35% if you’re wondering. So it’s not only a refreshing party in your mouth but a refreshing party in your mouth with less calories! Woo hoo! And I’ve never had a lychee before but if this smoothie is any indication as to what it tastes like, I want more!

These blends are 100 calories per serving. The new flavors are available at the suggested retail price of $3.29 per 15.2 oz bottle.
