The adventures of a talking dog and his four human pals as they try to unravel the strange and haunted history of their hometown. The tone is comedic, but it will never lose the edge that our heroes are in some frightening situations. The stakes are real.

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc. Season 1 Volume 3 is a great stocking stuffer for the upcoming holiday season, as the DVD only contains four episodes (episode 9-12 of the 2010 series). That’s right, there are no special features on this selection. So there are just enough episodes for long time Scooby Doo fans reminiscing to fall back into this world and remember why they love mysteries so much! You’ll be grasping for clues and laughing just as much, if not more than when you were a kid.

If you have yet to catch the Scooby-Doo! Mystery Inc. series, you’ll soon find that there are great mysteries to follow but there is also plenty that plays out and is connected throughout the entire season. Though four episodes may not be enough for the parents who switch this on for their kids as they are prepping dinner and what not, or even simply for a Scooby Doo marathon.

Perhaps the next release should include more episodes, so as not to make people cough off money for volumes including four episodes. It is also worth mentioning the voice over talent is some of the most notable Scooby Doo talent as well as Gary Cole and no stranger to the Scooby Doo family, Matthew Lillard. There’s plenty to enjoy here though hopefully there’s more to enjoy in the next “volume.”
