The exclusive rights (including the entire trilogy, sequels and spinoffs) to Marie Lu‘s futuristic young adult thriller, Legend have now been acquired by CBS Films.
The first novel from the series is set to be published in November 2011 by Penguin Group. Lu will be involved with the screenplay as well as executive produce. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (The Twilight Saga, Dear John) will develop and produce.
In a dark future, North America has split into two warring nations. The story follows Day, a young Robin Hood, and June, the teen prodigy hired to hunt him down; together they uncover an impossible truth about their totalitarian leaders. The adventure that follows will become Legend.
If that’s not enough, Marie Lu’s website describes the trilogy as Catch Me If You Can meets The Hunger Games. This sounds incredibly intriguing so I cannot wait to read the series and see the first film come together.
