As part of the recent Syfy Digital Press Tour in Orlando, Florida, we had the opportunity to spend some time with Eureka and Warehouse 13 stars Neil Grayston and Allison Scagliotti. It was announced at the panel that there will be a special holiday-themed episode for each show in early December. Guest stars and holiday cheer are on tap for these episodes, with Judd Hirsch playing Artie’s father in Warehouse 13 and Chris Parnell and recurring guest Matt Frewer making an appearance in Eureka.

Speaking of guest stars, it was also revealed that geek icons Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day were originally only slated to appear in a few episodes each in Eureka, but then both characters were given larger story arcs. By the end of the season, Wheaton will be in nearly half of the season with Day appearing in almost as many episodes as well.

Some other interesting tidbits we learned from the panel:

* Neil and Allison first met at Comic-Con a year ago, where both of them attended each other’s panels.
* When asked what her favorite artifact from the show was, Allison didn’t hesitate saying Edgar Allan Poe’s pen, because whatever you write with it comes true.
* Claudia’s brother makes an appearance in the holiday episode.
* Salli Richardson-Whitfield (Dr. Allison Blake) will make her directorial debut in the second half of the season with a girl-themed episode of Eureka titled “Omega Girls”
* Allison’s dream story for her character would involve going undercover in an all-girl punk band.

It seems like there’s quite a lot to look forward to!
