Jaime Pressly recently guest starred on the show. Who has been your favorite guest star?
Brian Dennehy played my father in law and he has such fantastic old Hollywood stories. He can tell stories about everybody! And he is spontaneous too, he’s a great improver.
Audrey & Jeff aren’t having the best of luck with their pregnancy as in a recent episode they were looking for a surrogate. But what was your fave part about your real life pregnancy a few years ago?
Naps are the best thing. When you are pregnant and taking a nap you are actually doing something constructive. (laughs) I love naps. I loved giving birth. I wasn’t really sick. I was still on my spin bike, I was hiking up until a week before I had her. I felt great. I felt like a million bucks.
What were your cravings?
I craved every kind of fruit you could imagine…and my other craving was Vietnamese food. We had 2 Vietnamese families living in our house growing up since my parents sponsored a few families. So I grew up on Vietnamese food and when I got pregnant, that’s all I want.
How well do you think Audrey would fair with motherhood in the first year?
I really don’t know because (laughs) I am so confused by this story line. I don’t understand the motivation of hers to be a mother. I keep trying to wrap my brain around it. I think it must have something to do with her image…she wants to dress up her own personal Barbie and take her out around town.
In a recent episode, Audrey went to her high school reunion. What was the best and worst part about your most recent real life high school reunion?
Oh man. I went last summer with my husband. We both went to school in Oklahoma. We did not date in high school, we were barely even friends in high school. It was odd that we ended up together, so we thought it would be fun. We pulled up in the parking lot and I kept saying to my husband, “I think we’re in the wrong place, there are all of these old and bald dudes.” He said, “I think we’re old. Wow.” But really, the best part was reconnecting with people you loved in high school and they are still the same. That is the greatest thing. I think people thought that we were going to be all Hollywood so I think they were shocked that we weren’t jerks (laughs). The worst part…everybody drank a lot, so a lot of people reverted back to being idiots. That was weird but it was hilarious to watch.
What would you like to see for Audrey & Jeff if there is another season?
You mean when there is another season.
Yes!
(laughs) You know, I am really careful what I wish for. I don’t think I wish big enough. I think our writers have pushed the envelope and the writing gets sharper every time they get back at it so I can’t wait to see what’s next. We have a team of such brilliant people so I can’t wait.
Have the writers incorporated much this season from your real life experiences?
Yeah and also we’ve been doing the show for 4 years so I think that as we all continue to get to know each other, a lot of our own personalities get mixed with our character.
Your wardrobe is fabulous on the show, who are your favorite designers? What is your favorite thing about Audrey’s style?
Gucci is my favorite. Who can afford Gucci? So it’s the worst and greatest gift because I’m totally spoiled rotten and then I’ll go to the store and get a dress or tank top from Target. The shoes are to die for on the show. But I have to truck around them for 10 hours so I love YSL because they are actually comfortable. And our designers are so god about jewelry and accessorizing too. The cool thing too is that sometimes they’ll have a Cavalli shirt and then a tank top from Gap. So they definitely combine the two.
What have been your favorite episodes to film this season?
What’s funny is that I probably would have told you it was my most hated episode but now looking back, I would say it’s the episode where I sexually harass a guy at work. It was the most fun to shoot. I got to hang out with my girlfriends, Beth Littleford and Susan Yeagley who played my friends on the show. They were fantastic.
What are your favorite CBS shows?
Sometimes I watch CSI and I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus so I’ll watch The New Adventures of Old Christine. That’s always on my Tivo.
Watch the Rules of Engagement Season Finale next Monday at 8:30/7:30c on CBS.
