NBC’s newest one hour drama inspired by the box-office hit, Parenthood premieres tonight!
Whether or not you have seen the original Parenthood film directed by Ron Howard, viewers will fall in love with this series. Don’t be fooled by the comedic promos you have seen on NBC as there is so much more to this show than what you can imagine. The first half hour of the Pilot is filled with comedy and hints of drama on the horizon.
In the second half hour of the Pilot, you may find yourself tearing up at these incredibly complex characters and the complicated lives that they live. Sarah (Lauren Graham) moves back home with her parents, bringing her rebellious daughter and lonely son. It doesn’t take long for Sarah to become reunited with her ex boyfriend from her school days, Paul though he has really let himself go. It’s quite comedic and intriguing to see Sarah’s reaction to Paul and where he is at in his life and what could possibly be coming for the two of them in the future.
As for Sarah’s siblings…Just as Crosby (Dax Shepard) begins to accept taking the next step in a relationship with his girlfriend, he is blind sighted when his past comes back to intertwine with his present. Sarah & Crosby’s sister, Julia (Erika Christensen) is consumed with work and is just now beginning to see the toll it is taking on her relationship with her daughter.
Lastly, their brother, Adam (Peter Krause) & his wife, Kristina (Monica Potter) come to the realization of and then struggle to come to terms with their son, Max possibly having Asperger’s syndrome. Each and every character is carefully crafted, every scene so cleverly written, and this show is very realistic and relatable, which viewers will be drawn to. This Pilot sets up for what will be an incredibly entertaining and moving series. There has been so much set up in the Pilot that one can only anticipate what is coming up next.
Parenthood premieres March 2nd at 10/9c on NBC.
