Get ready to look and feel fabulous! YogaWorks: Body Slim is an active series of yoga postures that flow together to sculpt long, lean muscles and improve flexibility. This powerful 2-in-1 practice will increase upper and lower body strength, improve focus and balance, burn fat and raise energy levels. The DVD includes the Body Slim Class and Learning Guide.
This 50 minute workout is geared towards improving both upper and lower body strengths and balance. It is a very beneficial workout for those wanting to become more flexible and become better at balance that is for sure. This would probably be my favorite DVD of the three DVDs although this is quite a difficult workout to begin with, so I would suggest the Beginners DVD before making this a habitual exercise.
YogaWorks: Fit Abs
This challenging workout sequences traditional yoga poses in intervals of high intensity movement and slow burn holds. Participants will move continuously as they build strength in this fun, demanding practice that will tone muscles and sculpt the waist. YogaWorks: Fit Abs takes advantage of the science behind interval training with the added bonus of core conditioning. The DVD features a Fit Abs Class, Core Yoga Flow Class and a Learning Guide which will all aid in weight loss and help build a strong core.
This DVD is broken into 2 workouts, the 10 minute fit abs workout and the 40 minute Core yoga Flow workout. Automatically I found this to be confusing as the DVD is titled “Fit Abs” and not only does the DVD cover have nothing to do with abs but the fit abs workout is only 10 minutes. This DVD seems to be more of an introduction to sculpting the body more than actually toning the midsection. If you want to get serious about getting fit abs, this is a good cardio inspired push in the right direction but it is not something to use for long term effectiveness.
YogaWorks: Beginners AM/PM
YogaWorks: Beginners AM/PM is a comprehensive introduction to the practice of yoga. The instructor guides viewers through a series of accessible yoga postures with clear, simple to follow instructions. These postures are easy enough for anyone to try and are designed to build strength and increase flexibility at a pace that’s right for everyone. It is the perfect way to start and end the day. The DVD features a Beginners Class, a Morning Energizer Class that awakens the body and mind, a P.M Relax and Restore Class that helps participants rest and unwind and a Learning Guide.
This DVD is broken into 3 workouts, the 45 minute beginners workout, the 10 minute AM Wake Up workout, and the 10 minute PM Relax & Restore workout. If there were any introduction to yoga that I would recommend, it would be this one. This beginners workout is quite something as you will feel incredible after doing the beginners workout! This will help you become comfortable with basic stretches while also challenging you to go the extra step in stretching farther than you thought you could. The AM workout may or may not get you energized for the morning, as it sets a calm and relaxation sense over you, almost like the PM workout does. It might be just me, but I prefer the PM workout for the morning and the AM workout for night. Though once you become comfortable with this DVD or become advanced, whichever comes first, it is time to pass on this DVD to an actual beginner and focus on the other 2 DVDs that will help you in more ways than one!
Special Features:
The Learning Guide (14:26 Minutes) teaches viewers the correct postures, positions, and vocabulary for various yoga workouts which many will find to be incredibly helpful. I recommend buyers view the learning guides on any of the 3 DVDs (It doesn’t matter which, as each is the same) before working out.
The Custom Workout Interactive Option is available on the Fit Abs DVD and is also available on the Beginners AM/PM DVD. I have yet to figure out this feature…
