What I Want To See On Mercy

You already know why I love Mercy and what music I would love to hear on Mercy, and as there is always room to take it up a notch, here is what I want to see on Mercy!

What I Want To See On Mercy

1) Show off more of New Jersey…Hoboken, the Jersey Shore, our sports teams (or at least the tri state’s sports teams), etc…

2) Having real Jersey City nurses become extras in a future episode of the show or even having a short scene where a group of real nurses are “honored” in a scene by the city for their work on saving many lives in a major accident. It would be nice to share the faces of those Jersey nurses who are kicking butt every day.

3) As it is no secret that doctors and nurses lead very busy work schedules, it seems obvious that there should be an episode jam packed with the nurses having no time to relax until they are off the clock. Viewers could follow Sonia, Veronica, and Chloe on more than one or two patient cases each and because the nurses will be so busy with their patients (unless they are all assigned to a case together)…this seems more like a stand alone episode. There hasn’t been a stand alone episode as of yet, so one wouldn’t hurt, as things could even be set up in this episode that could become consistent in episodes afterwords.

4) As Veronica is now cordial with Dr. Harris, there doesn’t seem to be a character that is not all that well liked. Let’s get some new blood in the hospital, be it a new nurse or a nurse who has been around for ages and is just transferring here but he or she brings nothing but chaos to work, first indirectly and then directly towards the nurses and the rest of the staff. Let’s stir up some major trouble in Mercy Hospital (like Georgina trouble times five.) This could be a multi episode storyline or a storyline that goes on for one or two seasons. It really depends on who could be cast for this troublemaker and where the writers would take this.

5) I started off watching Nurse Jackie and then Hawthorne, which I can’t say that I watch either on the regular anymore but I noticed similarities between those two shows regarding the personalities of the characters. I noticed many of the same similarities throwing Mercy into the mix as well. There needs to be more that separates the main characters from those shows. For instance, the storyline where the nurse is right and the doctor is wrong…let’s show more ways where the nurses are heroines. We have already seen a few ways on the show, so let’s keep it up and stand out among other medical dramas for really taking things to the next level, whether left or right story wise and character wise.

6) Taking things up the next level really asks for more originality…little to no clichés and stereotypical layers (i.e. lesbian softball players, Sonia’s brother involved in the drug crowd). Let’s do it!

7) Sonia and Nick are adorable together and it would be a shame if these two weren’t meant for each other in the end. This couple needs to be the couple on the show that is meant for each other no matter what. Sure, they will continue to have obstacles in their relationship as it furthers along but in the end, it would be great to see these two married for life. Veronica’s love triangle is written perfectly since there is no definite answer as to who she will truly be faithful to, Mike or Chris. Keep that up! It’s perfect! As for Chloe, it is fun seeing her single and dating but she should definitely have a steady boyfriend for awhile eventually. It is nice though to see how all three women are in completely different stages of relationships. This makes such entertaining television! If you are not watching, you should be!

Mercy returns with all new episodes to NBC this Wednesday, December 9th at 8/7c.
