The teen drama that has everyone talking is better than ever in its inspiring third season. Rediscover all the excitement and emotion of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, the critically acclaimed original ABC Family series. It’s a whole new school year as Amy (Shailene Woodley) tries to juggle motherhood, school, work and family, and Grace (Megan Park) and Jack (Greg Finley) take their relationship to the next level.
This volume of The Secret Life of the American Teenager is full of even more drama than the first season! Amy juggles motherhood, work, and school while also dealing with her family who is…surprise, surprise, just as messed up as she is. Amy is not only a new and very protective mother, but she seemed to have made a 180 degree turn with her attitude, as she is extremely uptight…not the Amy we all knew in the first season. She’s not the only one with issues though as Grace faces a tragic family tragedy, Adrian is trying to bring her parents back together, and there’s so much more packed into this season…it’s very easy to become addicted to this show.
Secret Life is not afraid to share the emotions of a new teen mother that aren’t glamorized in American popular culture. Secret Life does not refrain from real life sex talk and does not censor themselves as much as one would think for an ABC Family show, which is great. The show appeals to many audiences and has the perfect balance of drama and comedy…though that is to be expected with show creator, Brenda Hampton (7th Heaven). Lots more layers of the characters are shown in this season, which will leave you wanting more in the end, so make sure to pick up your copy to relive this roller coaster of a season.
Bonus Features:
Hat Chat – Cast members Shailene, Daren, Ken, Megan, Greg, Francia and India answer fun questions that they draw from a hat. This was quite an enjoyable feature to watch! The backdrop was on set but behind the scenes and the actors did not interact with each other, as they drew questions and answered the questions individually rather than as a pair or an entire group. While it would have been even more entertaining if the cast had answered in pairs or as a group, this was still fun to see each of the cast members in a relaxed environment and not in character. Viewers find out lots about the cast, including…Megan is in the band Frank And Derol. This is a great feature, too bad it stops there on this DVD because fans would love to have seen more features!
A Sneak Peak of what’s next for Secret Life and the “Pilot” episode of the new ABC Family series, Make It Or Break It can also be seen on the DVD.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager returns to ABC Family January 4, 2010 at 8/7c.
