As a fan of Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life On Deck, and Hannah Montana, I was thrilled with the first crossover event of these shows earlier in the year. Soon, Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana, the triple length crossover event that Disney fans do not want to miss – will soon be available on DVD!
DVD Information:
1 Disc/3 Episodes/68 Minutes
Climb on board for fun on the high seas as three favorite Disney Channel shows come together in Wizards On Deck With Hannah Montana! The S.S. TIPTON embarks on a triple-length comedy crossover event when Justin (David Henrie) wins a Teen Cruise to Hawaii—and a chance to meet London (Brenda Song). Both Justin and Max (Jake T. Austin) do their best to win the heiress’s affection, while Cody (Cody Sprouse) tries to win concert tickets for Bailey (Debby Ryan), and Alex (Selena Gomez) accuses Zack (Dylan Sprouse) of being a prankster. Between the kids’ pranks (who turned Justin blue?!) and crazy schemes (Alex sneaks Harper [Jennifer Stone] on board to take her make-up science class?!), the excitement goes overboard when international superstar Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) checks in on her way to a sold-out concert in Hawaii. But when Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) loses her lucky charm anklet and her Hannah wig, are her days as the world’s biggest pop star over forever? It’s all here in Wizards On Deck With Hannah Montana with three times the fun and triple the laughs.
This adventure is told in 3 episodes. The first episode, “Cast-Away (To Another Show)” follows the Wizards cast and shows what happens after they arrive on the S.S. Tipton for a chance to meet London Tipton. While enjoyable, there just wasn’t enough magic for me in this episode. Let’s hope this isn’t the end of crossover events, because I would love to see more! The second episode, “Double-Crossed” follows the On Deck cast as Cody finds himself trying to win Hannah Montana concert tickets for Bailey and Zack finds himself being blamed for something Alex actually did to Justin. Meanwhile, Max is trying to impress London. There is an awful lot going on this episode, it is jam packed with action and comedy, making it the most exciting episode to watch.
The third episode, “Super(stitious) Girl” follows the Hannah Montana cast as Miley’s anklet and Hannah wig are both gone and Miley does not know how to go on with the concert. Miley’s dad comes to the rescue and all is well. It felt like so much more could have been done with this storyline. It seemed like there was room for a side story with Miley & Lilly. Although the ending was written very well, as it left room for possible continuation of this crossover. Viewers will definitely see that there was lots of work put into this crossover and it definitely shows on screen that the cast had a wonderful time, so hopefully they will do this again! I highly recommend this DVD – it is a must have for anyone who is a fan of any of these shows!
Bonus Features:
Justin’s Award-Winning Essay – This essay video is what was sent in that got Justin & his siblings on the cruise to Hawaii. The topic is “How to Write an Essay.” This is a very useful and effective guide video as it is educational and amusing and something you most likely will not see on any other DVD. Good job Disney!
Backstage Disney: It’s A Suite Life Having Fun With Hannah & The Wizards – This feature blends cast interviews with bloopers and blunders from filming. It’s a very amusing feature to watch as the cast talks about working together and so forth. While a short feature, viewers really get an inside look into filming this special. The editing on this feature was done very well. I can see this feature being played over and over again by the hardcore fans.
Wizards On Deck with Hannah Montana will become available in stores September 22, 2009.
