The Season 2 Premiere of Leverage Airs Wednesday, July 15 at 9/8c on TNT and below is my early review of the premiere! Watch a sneak peek here!
The episode opens following Nate as he is trying to settle into his new job and he ends up saving two lives in a car accident not too far from this job. That car accident was pretty wild to watch and thankfully, both make it! No thanks to the man who stole the father’s briefcase once the car had landed! After he briefly visits the hospital to make sure everything is okay…next thing you know, the gang is all back to support Sophie’ acting career. They all talk at a bar afterwards about getting back together but to no success for the time being. It was fun to watch this episode to see how exactly the gang would come back together. Guess what it was? On Nate’s way back to his place, the same robber tries to attack him but Sophie’s got his back and the robber gets away.
The gang tracks down the robber but has no immediate plans to physically track him down just yet. Parker & Hardison do a con and the cons are always so clever, so it was fun to see. Eliot finds out that the robber is part of the Irish mob while he is spying on them and ends up in a fight that is funny to watch since Eliot says sorry after kicking the robber in the nose (since his nose was already broken). It doesn’t take long for the gang to see what the mob is really after and they create a con out of the situation. Unfortunately, they don’t have all of their facts straight so they get caught up in a tiff for a short moment.
With another successful con, the only person reluctant about the gang doing cons after cons is Nate…but he’ll have to get used to is, as Hardison bought the building he lives in and the gang is officially back for a season full of bigger and more outrageous cons. Funny how the one person who was not at all ready to get back into the game started it back up again. I love the tone of this show, the humor is so fresh, and this is definitely a fun season premiere to watch. It pumps you up for what is to come in the season and I can’t wait to watch! In this season, I am interested to see in detail what everyone was up to on their own and if Nate can stay sober. Only time will tell.
This episode was written by John Rogers and directed by Dean Devlin.
