There are many shows that I should be watching that I am not but I finally got around to watching one of those shows this week. I decided to start watching Dexter yesterday, since I noticed the entire First Season was on Showtime On Demand. To my delight, the entire Second Season also became available today! I can only hope that Season 3 will be added on August 18, 2009 when the DVD releases. If I don’t want to wait until August, I can always get the episodes on iTunes. The goal is to be all caught up in time for the Season 4 premiere in September 2009.
So far, I have seen Season One Episodes 1-8. I have enjoyed the first 8 episodes, especially Episode 8. Most importantly, the end of Episode 8. Wow.
June 11, 2009 Update: I have now seen all of Season 1 and I loved it. The first 7 episodes were good but when it got to the 8th episode it became a whole new level of amazing. Episodes 8, 11, and 12 were my favorites of the season. Wow, what an ending. I have also seen the Season 2 premiere and I cannot wait to watch more! I hope that Doakes lays off Dexter and I wonder if Rita is going to openly question Dexter about the shoe…and if so what will become of their relationship. Other than that, I can’t wait for more exciting episodes.
June 22, 2009 Update: I have now seen all of Season 2 and what a season this was! As with the first season, the first half of the season was good but the second half of the season was even better. Unfortunately Doakes did not lay off Dexter. It was frustrating seeing Dexter so conflicted about what to do because of this. As forward as Doakes was, there was someone else who actually irked my nerves. Lila was a constant annoyance so it was good to see Dexter finally deal with that problem. Something that is also annoying is how…I don’t even know how to say it. I don’t want to say that Rita is in denial about the things that go on around her but there is certainly a screw missing. Of course I want Dexter and Rita to stay together forever, that is not a question. Although as an individual, Rita is not so bright. Anyway, was the Season Finale shot at a time that the cast and crew did not know if a Season 3 was being made? I ask because that is the kind of ending it felt like it could have been. Season 3 looks like it will be amazing mainly because of Dexter and his (possibly non existent) code. I can’t wait to watch Season 3!
September 6, 2009 Update:
I have finally finished Season 3 of Dexter and I am all caught up and ready for Season 4! Miguel was getting on my last nerve, so I am glad that Dexter took care of him. Although I wonder what the conflict will be for Dexter in the upcoming season…Doakes was a problem, then Miguel, who next? Now I was worried about Anton with the Skinner, but with everyone on the hunt for the Skinner, it was only a matter of time before he was found! Thankfully he was found alive! I am excited about Dexter & Rita being happily married and wonder if Rita’s first husband will ever come back into the storyline as a main focus for a bit. It seems like Dexter is fine with Rita’s secret but who knows what could happen. Something could happen that could force her to have to tell Dexter. I don’t know. There is so much to look forward to and I cannot wait until the end of the month for the new season!
