My View of The View

Today I went to a taping of The View, which will air on Friday. The ladies will soon be going on vacation, so they have begun pre-recording the episodes that will air on their time off.

First, I just have to say how thrilled I was to have gone because I remember applying for tickets but I have no idea when I did it. You know how you apply for something and then never think about it again? So think of that and then imagine how excited I was when I checked the mail and received tickets. It was nice to finally sit in the audience of a show that I have watched regularly for years.

The studios are always smaller than they look on television. I have been to numerous tapings, including Chelsea Lately, Big Brother 10, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. In all cases, every seat was a good seat. The View was just the same. Comic, Tom Kelly came out to get the crowd pumped for the show.

I would say less than 10 minutes later, the ladies came out. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Sherri Shepherd were in attendance. Barbara Walters was not in attendance for the taping. (Elisabeth will not be in attendance tomorrow. She will be giving out cupcakes at her daughter’s school.)

The special guest we were told about ahead of time was Bob Saget. He was promoting his new show on ABC, Surviving Suburbia. There were also 3 other guests, including a Starz Actress, an SNL star, and someone who claimed to be very horny.

The audience received Season 1 of a DVD from one of the special guests above, which I will be reviewing shortly. If you check out my photos below, you may or may not be able to tell who the other 3 guests are. Aside from the guests, there was much talk of sex (and comedy), Fico scores, and Joy’s month in review. The show was very entertaining and I enjoyed myself very much.
