February Notes
* Buy Indie Press continues! This month, I put the spotlight on Algonquin Young Readers, Zest Books, and Peachtree Publishers. You can join in and tweet along using #BuyIndiePress.
* Susan Dennard (Truthwitch) and Sarah J. Maas (Queen of Shadows) came to the B&N in Bensalem, PA during Susan’s Truthwitch Release promo tour and I was thrilled to be able to attend that event! Congrats, Susan on hitting the New York Times Bestseller List with Truthwitch!
* For the first time, I am participating in Lent. My goal was to give up TV and cut my social media activity. My status right now? Social media is easier than I thought it would be. TV though? I was solid during the first week but the second week I caved and have since edited my goal to only watching TV on Sundays along with my movie viewing rather than watching TV for hours each day, 7 days a week. As explained in my blog post, next year, I’d like to really cut off everything so this is a great start in the right direction. I cannot believe how many hours I’ve gained to focus and be more productive! Wow.

I love your idea of giving up TV and social media for Lent! I gave up social media a few years ago for a full 40 days but now I’m a lot more addicted. For Greek Easter I might try your TV strategy and only watch on Sundays.
Thanks! It has not been easy but I have so much more time on my hands now so I might actually continue making Sunday my movie/TV day and just DVRing stuff throughout the week so that I can be way more productive in that time after Lent ends and I highly recommend others interested in doing so too to try it out! 😀
